Tasmania is the ecological pressure-cooker that created the worlds first
Greens Party. In this island ecosphere one vandals actions immediately
impact on everybody elses. Unlike mainland Australia where often a dead
wetland or toxic housing estate can go un-noticed for months or even
years. The rush to turn somebodies life-support system into anothers
quick-buck is a global phenomenon. Take the recent 'chemical trespass'
legislation. Its simply a law that forbids one landholders toxic chemical
sprays from contaminating a neighbors water supply or crops. Could be a
life or death situation could it not? Just like school kids who can't take
peanuts to school because of another kids violent allergic reaction that
could lead to death. It was a bill introduced by the Tasmanian Greens and
opposed by both Liberal and Labor because they are both corrupt and accept
huge bribes from the islands only wood-chip company. Thats why there is an
almighty struggle for the control of life as we know it. Its life or death
and the corrupt politicians are slowly realising that they will be
removed.
